Eternal Flower Care Guides

Eternal flowers are made from fresh cut flowers and foliages that have gone through a preservation process involving treating them with non-toxic, food-grade compounds such as glycerine and food dye. High-quality eternal flowers are also expensive and require special care. If the maintenance is not good, the eternal flowers are prone to moisture and mold, the petals fade, and the lifespan is shortened. When you give or receive a gift but do not know how to maintain and place it, you fail the gift giver or yourself.

  1. 1.

    Do not water

Despite eternal flowers look and feel exactly like fresh cut flowers, they cannot be exposed to water in any form.

  2. 2.

    Avoid direct sunlight

Directly exposing to sunlight could cause their colour to change or fade and this process is irreversible, it should be kept in a cool place indoors and try to avoid being exposed to sunlight.

  3. 3.

    Avoid humid environment

Keep them out of humid places or environments. High humidity may cause colour leakage, staining or other similar damage. If you live in a tropical climate, store near a dehumidifier. In coastal or rainy areas where humidity is very high, you should keep them away from places where air enters or where there are ventilation grilles. If the weather is too humid, the petals of flowers will become transparent. At this time, you can turn on the hair dryer to dry the flower and the original appearance can be restored after a few days.

  1. 4.

    Avoid dry environment

Place the eternal flower in strong air vents such as air conditioners and fans, or put desiccant in the flower material, it will make the flower dry. If it lacks moisture, it will become hard and brittle like dried flowers and easily crack. The process is irreversible.

  2. 5.

Be gentle, handle with utmost care

Avoid touching, pulling and squeezing the petals of the eternal flower frequently with your hands, wet or sweaty hands may leave stains. The natural oils in our hands can damage the flower and repeated touching will break off pieces of the petals. They are delicate and can be damaged easily.

  3. 6.

Clean them using a soft feather duster/ Gently blow off dust with a blower

Eternal flowers without a glass cover are prone to dust when placed for a long time. If you need to clean the dust off of them, try to use a gentle motion with a soft feather duster, or alternatively you can adjust the blower/ hair dryer to the minimum wind and cold wind, about 30cm away from the flowers, and gently blow away the dust.

  4. Approximate Longevity: up to 1-3 years or more under the proper care and conditions.
